How to delete your Spotify account

Close the Spotify account you no longer use in two steps. We checked each one against Spotify's own help page, so you don't have to dig through it.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the exact Spotify account and decide whether you want account closure or only to stop Premium billing.
  • Review access to purchased audiobooks and future-event tickets before closing the account.

Steps

  1. Open the official closing-account guide while signed in to the exact Spotify account.
  2. Choose Close your account and delete your data from that guide, then review Spotify's confirmation steps before deciding whether to finish.
Open Spotify's deletion page

What happens after

  • Spotify says closing the account removes access to purchased audiobooks and tickets for future live events.
  • Spotify emails a reactivation link usable for 7 days. After that, the account cannot be reactivated and the data-deletion process begins.
  • Spotify says the same email address can be used for a new account after 14 days.

Can't sign in?

Contact Spotify's support from the email address on the account and ask for it to be closed. Expect them to check that the account is yours first.
